This one-day course will take place on 18 November 2018 at the Xi’an Shangri-la Hotel, Xi'an City, China. The program will be delivered in Chinese or English (with translation to Chinese). The organising institution is the Ultrasound in Medicine: Expert Committee of Cross-Strait Medicine Exchange Association. ISUOG international faculty members involved in this course are Prof. George Condous (ISUOG 2018 Congress co-Chair) and Mr Aris Papageorghiou (ISUOG Board Member and Honorary Secretary). Delegates of this ISUOG approved course will receive one year of Basic ISUOG membership as part of their registration.

Consultant Gynaecologist at Nepean Hospital and Director of OMNI Gynaecological Care, Centre for Women’s Ultrasound.
 
He is Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sydney Medical School, Nepean, University of Sydney and specialist in Gynaecological Ultrasound and Advanced Endosurgery. He set up the first and only Acute Gynaecology Unit in Australia which utilises ultrasound at the first point of contact for women with emergency gynaecological as well as early pregnancy complications (miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy). He is also responsible for the One-Stop Ultrasound based diagnostic clinics; which review women with abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain (endometriosis), adnexal pathology (ovarian cysts) as well as post-menopausal bleeding. He performs Advanced Endosurgery procedures for women who need intervention for pelvic masses, adnexal pathology, severe endometriosis or hysterectomy. He also runs ‘Hands on’ Live Sheep Laparoscopic Workshops for gynaecologists at Camden Veterinarian School.

UOG Editorial Board, China Task Force

Aris Papageorghiou is Professor of Fetal Medicine. He splits his time between providing clinical services to the National Health Service at St George’s Hospital in London and academic work at the University of Oxford. 
 
His clinical interests are in maternal and fetal medicine, in particular fetal diagnosis and therapy. On the academic front he is research director of the Oxford Maternal and Perinatal Health Institute and leads research in maternal, fetal and perinatal health using diverse methods. This includes several large global projects in low resource settings using ultrasound, biomarkers and interventions to improve phenotyping and outcomes. One major research line is in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in imaging, which led to him founding the Oxford spin-out, Intelligent Ultrasound. Committed to globally accessible education, he founded www.scan.academy during the pandemic. 
 
Aris is a prolific academic with over 450 original articles and an h-index of 86. He has received many honours, including a prestigious Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Athens; Honorary Fellow Award of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine; and Fellowship of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Visiting Professor at Capital Medical University, Beijing; and the Chair of the Expert Working Group in OBGYN for NHS Digital, UK. In 2022 he was appointed as Editor-in-Chief for the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
