ISUOG is inviting applications from our members to join as a volunteer on one of our committees. The Safety Committee and Basic Training Sub-Committee need your help in our mission to improve healthcare provision for women across the world.

What are the ISUOG committees?

Committees play an instrumental part in the activities of ISUOG, under the direction of the Board of Trustees. Committee member terms last an average of three years, with members rotated on and off committees on a yearly basis. Our volunteers are passionate about what they do and tell us that they find the experience very rewarding.

Here is what two of our current ISUOG committee members have to say on their experience as a volunteer on a committee:

Dr Mala Sibal, member of the ISUOG Scientific Committee said:

“I feel extremely honoured that I am in a position that fits into my dream of social service, along with my passion for gynecological ultrasound and teaching.”

Dr Maya Al-Memar, Chair of the ISUOG Education Committee said:

“It’s a real honour and a privilege to be doing this role. Having been mentored by a great educator, I think it’s something that I am really passionate about in my own hospital but also generally in the wider scheme globally.”

The Safety Committee

The Bioeffects and Safety Committee is involved in the investigation of issues relating to the bioeffects and safety of ultrasound, as well as the provision of education and information within this field. Find out more and apply to join the Safety Committee.

Basic Training Sub-Committee

The Basic Training Sub-Committee is a sub-group of the Education Committee. It is responsible for the development and maintenance of ISUOG’s state-of-the-art Basic Training modules and education material for dissemination. These modules provide trainees, that are new to ultrasound, with an introduction to essential topics in obstetrics and gynecology. Find out more and apply to join the Basic Training Sub-Committee.

All backgrounds and experience will be considered – but passion, enthusiasm and time commitment are a must! Deadline for applications: Monday 21 April 2025 at 17:00 PM / BST (UK time).
