A new ISUOG/ESGO Consensus Statement provides accessible guidance to clinicians to help achieve the best standards of practice in ultrasound-guided biopsy.

ISUOG, along with the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO), has issued a Consensus Statement on ultrasound-guided biopsy in gynecological oncology.

This joint publication by Fischerova et al. is free to access and presents clinically relevant and evidence-based statements on gynecological cancers.

The aim of this expert-led statement is to provide accessible guidance to clinicians – helping to achieve the best standards of practice in ultrasound-guided biopsy procedures and improve patient outcomes.

One of the authors, Dr Umberto Scovazzi has said: "With the release of this work, we hope to implement the application of ultrasound from a purely diagnostic tool to an interventional and useful in the hands of gynecologists for the immediate management planning of women with gynecological cancers”.
