ISUOG advocates for women’s rights to accessible healthcare everyday. On International Women’s Day, we would like to highlight our mission and celebrate the fact that female clinicians are instrumental in our goal to improve access to ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology world-wide.
Through outreach, ISUOG has been able to reach clinicians in over 100 lower-resourced countries around the globe with the aim of getting essential ultrasound care to women who otherwise wouldn’t have access.
ISUOG’s membership and leadership base is made up of many successful women in the field, without whom we wouldn’t be able to make the progress we do. This is testament to the importance of making space for women in medicine and healthcare.
Our President, Prof. Reem Abu-Rustum, has this to say:
“Today, despite the bold strides women have taken and the enormous sacrifices they have made, inequity continues to marginalise us as a variety of polarising agendas prevail across the globe. This will never weaken or stop us. On the contrary, it emboldens and fuels us to unite, improvise, use our collective passions, and accelerate our actions to ensure a better world for the daughters of a brighter tomorrow.”
