Advanced Training Curriculum: Fetal anomalies - brain and CNS part 1

This is the first part of a two part course on central nervous system anomalies in the second and third trimester. The aim of this course is to review, describe and update the technical aspects of the screening evaluation of the fetal brain to be performed as part of the mid-trimester anomaly scan; to present the indications and procedure for targeted fetal neurosonography; and to review the sonographic presentation and pathophysiology of selected CNS anomalies detectable by ultrasound focusing.

This course starts with a review of the ISUOG guidelines on neurosongraphy repeated from the first course; and proceeds to review the sonographic presentation and pathophysiology of select CNS anomalies detectable by ultrasound and MRI focusing on the second and third trimesters.
